I kid you not, I hunted through Zara stores in three countries to find these shoes only to end up buying them five kilometres away from my home. It started when I saw them in Japan last August but all the 40s had sold out. It continued in Thailand where the black version had a million pairs of size 40 and 41 but of course the red didn’t. And I reeeeeeally wanted the red – I have enough black flats. I’m at Westfield Doncaster today and almost skipped past Zara… Walked past the black version and a tiny seed of hope grew. Saw the red and wouldn’t you believe it, one last lucky pair for me. I’m breaking my own rules to buy them – they’re not leather, the last thing I need is another pair of ballet flats – but the heart wants what it wants. I had my $69.95 up on that counter straight away and now they’re home with me. WHERE THEY BELONG. Perseverance is everything people.
