Thoughts of the week – 27/1
1. Through the week a male colleague and I were discussing an incident where a guy took off after the offender when the girl he was with’s handbag was stolen. I said I’d run after someone too if they grabbed my bag. He looked at me and said, “Yeah but she probably had a $2000 bag or something.” I raised my eyebrows and walked off.
2. There are few people I hate seeing on the cover of a magazine than Carrie Underwood. She’s so freakin’ dull and all she does is bitch and talk about her food diary.
3. Worked on the real Australia Day and working tomorrow. I keep telling myself to just think of the cash.
4. I am a grand champion at funny MMS.
5. Has anyone watched The Carrie Diaries yet? I’ve downloaded the first episode to have a look but haven’t heard much in the way of feedback.
6. This is HILARIOUS. It’s a montage of Ellen scaring people. How have I not seen it before? I cried with laughter. REAL TEARS. Also this rap with Rebel Wilson is good too.
7. I want to go to New Zealand in a couple of months but haven’t bothered to sort out the time off yet.
8. Friendships where one party just wants to compete and/or talk about themselves all the time are just plain draining.
9. I’m thinking about having a small blog sale, which I’ve never done before. I have a selection of things that I believe would be better of re-homed elsewhere giving someone else joy.
10. I used my NARS Easy Lover gloss on Friday and it tasted terrible so I think it’s gone bad. That would be a massive sad face.
11. Country Road have some nice night dresses at the moment. Not that I need any more but I did buy a light cotton one for just $60 to wear as a beach cover up. I think it actually makes a really nice dress.
12. This line up of movie BFFs is gold.

I’ve watched the Carrie Diaries. It’s cute and it made me feel very old.

Hahaha… I think you forget sometimes how old SATC is now too

I’ve read the Carrie Diaries, but haven’t seen the show yet. I’m curious though. Will have to download and give it a go!

Undecided on the Carrie Diaries – wasn’t a fan after seeing the first episode – but my housemate convinced me to watch the second with her – which was a definite improvement for me. I think if it weren’t connected to SATC – I might like it more? But I just keep on trying to figure out how it all fits in with Carrie’s adult life – as none of it connects for me right now! I haven’t read the books though, so maybe that would explain it? I’m also not a fan of how they have her sitting at her desk doing voice over ala SATC – analysing her life issues with the wisdom of someone who apparently isn’t only 17 years old… I’ll keep watching and reserve final judgment for once I’ve seen more of it – but yeah, a little baffled and underwhelmed by it so far!

I think I’m going to try – I really didn’t like the book version – but I think you’re spot on when you say you kept trying to fit it in with how SATC panned out.

I watched half of the first episode of The Carrie Diaries because the trailer looked cute and Noodles wanted to watch it (even though I haaaaaaate SATC with a burning passion), but neither of us liked it so I turned it off. Also, their idea of 80s fashion, hair, makeup, etc and the actual 80s fashion, hair, makeup, etc are two TOTALLY different things.
I’ve never read an interview with Carrie Underwood. I kind of want to now just to see how boring she is.

How can you hate SATC? WHO ARE YOU?!?!
Seriously, she’s one of those people who blathers on about her food diary and exercise and just has zero personality whatsoever.
